On Sunday, the University of Kerala found itself in the center of the escalating legal and administrative stand-off, after a special meeting of the syndicate, convened to complete the statement of the university of the University of Kereral to suspend the registrar of the KS Anila Kumar.
The Provisional Chancellor alien Thomas refused to allow another discussion of this matter and claimed that the meeting was marked only to complete the statement of the trial. She declared that the meeting was dissolved and came out when most of the members of the syndicate increased the cancellation requirement of the suspension, which she called the pliable and outside the approved agenda.
However, most members of the Syndicate, especially supported by the left democratic front (LDF), met with a meeting under the chairman of PM member Radhamani to cancel the suspension. Kumara, who later reassured the office on the day.
However, the Vice-President rejected the legality of the “post-rating” proceedings and stated that no decision after the meeting had a legal effect.
Syndicate claim
Members of the Syndicate, the management of G. Muralidharan, claimed that the decision was in accordance with the claim that the decision was in line with the statutes of the university. They added that the suspension of the registrar violated the university standards and that the vice -chairman introduced Mohanan Kunnummal his powers according to Section 10 (13) (13) (13) of the Kerala, allowing immediate steps only under urgent circumstances. The vice -chairman was also accused of circumventing legal standards, including those to provide the registrar of the chance to be heard.
Created a committee
The Syndicate, which added another layer to this matter, was also decided by a three -member committee faced by Mr. Muralidharan to explore the events around the Hall of June 25, where the discussion first broke out during the office of the governor.
Members of the Syndicate of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) also strongly protested against the demand raised by left -wing members to cancel the suspension. They marked any discussion outside the agenda legally unsustainable. During the meeting, a member of the Syndicate PS Goupemar also accused the CPI member (M) R. Rajesha of the Malignant Supreme Court through a Facebook post.
Congress member of the Syndicate Ahamed Fazil Y. he distanced himself from both sides and claimed that while he was against suspension, he also believed that the last word was in court.
Minister’s support
Minister of Education, R. Binda, provided the support of the syndicate to the majority, because she said it was a syndicate and not a vice -chairman who holds the authority to name or suspend the registrar. Syndicate decision in legally valid, she added.
Given that the vice -chairman and the syndicate are preparing independent honorary statements to be submitted to the High Court, the matter is prepared for legal clearing.
