A Swiggy Instamart delivery attracted widespread attention online after the delivery partner showed up with his child and politely declined a cash tip and instead asked for a positive review of his service.
What started as an ordinary delivery became remarkable when a man arrived on a bicycle with a small child sitting behind him. When offered a tip, he declined and modestly asked for a good grade for his work.
The incident was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by user Vineeth K who wrote, “Swiggy delivery man came today to deliver some stuff from Instamart.
According to the post, when Vineeth asked about the baby, the birth partner calmly replied that it was his son. Vineeth also posted a photo of a young boy sitting on a delivery boy’s bike.
Vineeth explained that he usually tips delivery men in cash, but on this occasion the delivery man, identified as Ajay, refused the money and only asked for a favorable rating.
“I usually tip directly. He politely declined the tip. He just wanted a good rating for his service,” the post read.
Here’s how social media users reacted:
The story received a warm response from users on X, with many praising the delivery partner for his honesty, humility and dedication to his work.
One user wrote: “Most of them never expect a tip; they just wanted a good rating.”
Another user commented: “I think he used to have decent employment status, but because of layoffs or financial problems, he decided to work in the gig economy, which may be why he didn’t accept tips.”
“Just tip him in cash. If he doesn’t take it, it’s his pride so don’t force it,” another user commented.
In a similar incident, delivery agent Blinkit showed a thoughtful gesture after receiving help from a customer when his electric vehicle broke down in the middle of a trip. The customer, Neha Moolchandan, said the incident took place in November this year.
According to her post on X (formerly Twitter), the agent arrived late and explained that his EV had died and forced him to push him into her seat. She kindly offered to recharge his battery.
As a thank you for her help, the delivery man gave Neha a Milkybar chocolate.
