
A national-level hackathon organized by the Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology at Seetharamapuram village in Narasapuram mandal was inaugurated on Tuesday (March 17, 2026).
Sponsored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the two-day event also includes an Auto Expo featuring a variety of customized vehicles.
Organizers said the main objective of the hackathon was to improve students’ innovative thinking, technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Students from across the country participated and got an opportunity to develop new ideas and projects in the fields of AIML, engineering and robotics, they added.
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K. Madhu Murthy, ASME Asian Head S. Ganesh and APSCHE Director Anil Kumar were present on the occasion. ASME representatives G. Nandagopal (Mentor), L. Ashwath (Software Engineer), Sushanth Kumar Sahoo (Software Engineer) and V. Shivaraman (Professor, IIT Madras) also participated in organizing the hackathon.
College President KV Satyanarayana, Treasurer K. Venkateswara Swamy, Principal Addala Srihari, Management members TVV Prasad and S. Keerthi Kumar, Principal S. Suresh Kumar, Vice Principal A. Gopichand, AIML Chief Bomma Rama Krishna, Mechanical Wing Head Francis Luther King, teachers and students were also present, along with non-coordinators and students.
