Swachhotsav 2025, the Union Government Initiative as part of the Swachh Bharat mission, was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Central University of Karnataka.
Until October 2, the program will be fourteen days long.
On this occasion, the vice -chairman of Batt Satyanaayana called on citizens to act responsibly to nature.
“Mahatma Gandhi dreamed of pure and hygienic India, without pollution. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to fulfill this dream. Today we suffer from contamination.
The main guest channel RM emphasized the spiritual dimension of purity. “Cleanliness is in addition to piety. Social reformer Basaveshware has emphasized both internal and external cleaning. Cleanliness must become part of our everyday life, and this requires a change in people’s attitudes. The open village is a key step towards reaching Swachh Bharat mission,” he said.
The Veeresh Kasabegoudar Campus Director said that cleanliness units should not be limited to symbolic events, but it must be everyday practice.
“In India, we have only 28 trees per person compared to the global average of 455. We all share responsibility for maintaining our campus green and clean,” he added.
Swachh Bharat Mission Mission Nodal Officer at the Central University Jagadish Biradar said that within fourteen days, Shramdaan and cleaning units will be occupied in villages, schools, Anganwadis, primary health centers, universities and other public spaces.
Activities will include repair and reconstruction of toilets, waste of wealth, campaigns to raise awareness, seminars, workshops, gatherings, plantation units, plastic events, Nukkad Nataks and signature campaigns against one use.
Prof. Satyanarayana launched a selfie stand for a signature campaign and managed the promise of Swachhat.
