Suttur Mutt Seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami expressed regret for alleged attempt and pulled Dharmasthal to the controversy and tarnish his reputation.
Responding to the case for the first time, a fortune teller, which usually refreshes to such incidents, said that Sri Kshetra Dharmasthal was not only a sacred place for the inhabitants of Karnatak, but also worshiped all over the country and devoted all over the world.
He said that faith is fragile – just like a glass or a mirror – and as soon as it is broken, you cannot repair. A minor crack can cause distortion, said a fortune teller, adding that this distortion cannot be used to repeatedly suppress controversy.
He stressed Dharmasthal’s uniqueness and said his traditions were a rare confluence of the vortex, because the priests follow the tradition of Madhwa and worship Vishna as the highest deity, while his administration is supervised by Jains. “This mixing of three thought currents is a matter of pride, reflecting Indian diversity,” he said.
The faithful also praised Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade’s decades long contributions to Dharmasthala. Through rural development programs, Mr. Heggade has expanded drinking water and other equipment in villages, he said.
Suttur Seer emphasized the protection of the temple, the establishment of the Manjusha Museum and the archives of the manuscripts and memorials accepted by Mr. Heggade, and said it has promoted the strengthening of the position of women through the “Stree Shakti” and has been supporting a mass marriage since 1972 to facilitate financial burden.
While he noticed reports of suspicious deaths in Dharmasthale, age emphasized that such incidents should not be used to destruction of a religious institution, and urged patience because the government’s special investigative team performs their probe.
“It’s time for Lakh devoted to keep calm and give up emotions. Similarly, those looking for justice should wait for the final report instead of causing hasty conclusions. The reputation is easily destroyable, but hard to build,” Věr added.
