The Municipal Police in Kochi on Saturday (March 29) confiscated suspicion of unnoticed money worth 2.70 GBP Crore from Authorickshaw and took two people, including a migrant.
The money was confiscated from the authorickshaw parked near the sidewalk on the Kannengatt bridge near Willingdon Island. Sabish Ahammad, 25 years old, from Bihar, an employee in a clothing store in Broadway, and Rajagopal, 40, a native of Tamil Nadu who lived in Kadavantho, were taken into custody.
They claimed that the money is reportedly belonging to the owner of the textile store. Authorickshaw raised a suspicion that was explored by the team of the police patrol from Harbor Station. Reportedly, the money was found in three large shopping bags. The owner of the clothing company, staying in the Elamacker, allegedly demanded cash and stated that he was to be handed over to a mediator for real estate transaction. However, the police were not convinced and alerted the bank officials and income taxes.
