Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences Additional Medical Superintendent Nori Lakshmi Bhasker
Suspicious benami properties worth about ₹ 3.27 crore, investments of ₹ 20 crore, ₹ 4.94 crore in cash and hand loan income of ₹ 3,000 crore were unearthed as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) widened its probe into the disproportionate additional medical assets case against BHASTENERMS and Lamin.
The ACB on Tuesday conducted searches at five places in and around Hyderabad, including the residence of the suspected benams, who allegedly had financial and other transactions with the accused officer. The searches followed orders issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad.
Among the assets found were documents relating to three agricultural plots in Maheshwaram worth around ₹57,000 crore and an open plot in Venkateshwara Cooperative Housing Society in MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, worth ₹2.70 crore.
The ACB also recovered ₹ 4.94 lakh in cash from the residence of Dhanraj, a NIMS employee.
Two investments worth ₹20,000 were found in the name of D. Ganesh, an employee of NIMS outsourcing, while income related to a hand loan of ₹3,000 was also found during the searches, the agency said.
The searches were carried out as a continuation of the case of disproportionate assets registered against Dr. Bhasker on September 21 under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The ACB said documents and other material forming part of the evidence relating to the suspected benami assets were seized. Verification of additional assets and money trail is ongoing. Further investigation is underway.
