The day after Keral University, Vice President of the Chancellor in Mohanan Kunnummal, suspended the registrar of the KS Anil Kumara above the series of portraits of Bharat Mat, Mr. Kunnummal from the left democratic front (LDF) of the Ministers (UDF) who accused him of his restriction.
When Mr. Kunnummal responded on Thursday, the Minister of Higher Education R. Mrs. Binda said that the state government would seek a legal council on this matter. “The university’s syndicate is the authority of the registrar. It is that the syndicate has the power to initiate disciplinary measures against it. The vice -chairman can issue this problem by notification of the Syndicate,” she said, adding that Mr. Kunnummal acted as a tool of Safonization agenda.

Mrs. Binda also said that Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar could have remained in the Senate Hall of the University, due to the tense situation. She said that the whole incident was part of the RSS attempts to “infiltrate” the motif of Bharat Mat, a religious symbol, into the secular thinking of people.
The leader of the opposition VD Satheesan said that the vice -chairman has no power to suspend the registrar. Mr. Kunnummal’s decision is legally unsustainable, Mr. Satheesan said. The governor, who is the Chancell of the University, should behave in a way that fits his position, said. Mr. Satheesan also pointed out that Minister Pinaraya Vijayan had to comment on this matter.
General Minister of Education V. Sivankutty also killed Mr. Kunnummal’s decision to build Mr. Anil Kumar under the suspension. While Mr Kunnummal’s action was based on Rule 10 (13) of the Keral University Act, Rule 10 (14) clearly points out that the vice -chairman is entitled to initiate disciplinary proceedings only against officials under the rank of registrar, Mr. Sivanku said.
Raj Bhavana’s demand
Raj Bhavan means that he expressed his displeasure to the State Police about what he described as a serious “security slump” during the marches of SFI-Jifi, which went to Raj Bhavan on Wednesday evening. Raj Bhavan was also looking for a strict action against police officers responsible for alleged forfeiture, sources said.
