The University of Kerala has informed the High Court that the suspension of the university’s registrar following the row over the display of Bharat Mata’s photograph on stage at an event in its senate hall will be included as an item in the syndicate meeting scheduled for 1
The submission was made when a bench of Justice VG Arun was hearing a plea by members of the university syndicate seeking a direction to the vice-chancellor to convene a meeting of the syndicate to abide by the earlier HC direction.
They alleged that the meeting was deliberately delayed to avoid discussing the suspension of KS secretary Anilkumar. They added that the matter was not even included in the notice of the upcoming meeting and expressed concern that the matter may again be left out of the November 1 hearing.
The court decided that it is confident that all participants in the meeting will maintain decency and also fulfill their duties responsibly.
