The distribution of fine rice through allocation shops began in Hyderabad since Thursday (May 1, 2025). Although it started in Telangana 30 March, it was not distributed in the city district due to the model code of behavior for elections to the MLC local authorities.
On Saturday, the mayor of Hyderabad Ponnam Prabhakar was organized on Saturday, along with the mayor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He said the government preferred this system.
In the district there are about 6.39 Lakh holders, which would distribute 14,500 metric tons of fine rice through 653 ration shops (fair prices). The district collector Anudeep Durisketty said 30% of which had already been distributed.
The Minister added that the district does not have enough gods and it is necessary to submit suggestions to stand more on government land.
Later Mr. Prabhakar distributed fine rice in the rationing shop in Adarsh Basti, Himayatnagar and had lunch in the house of one of the recipients.
He said that a survey on the issue of new ration cards will be carried out soon. It was found that about 1.75 Lakh applications for new allocation cards have been received from the district.
