
The Central Investigation Office (CBI) registered 22 companies in connection with the alleged connection between banks/financial corporations and builders in the Homebuyers area in the capital city (NCR). As part of the investigation, the CBI searched for 47 locations throughout the Delhi, Grrabram, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and other NCR areas. These searches have led to the restoration of various convictions and digital evidence.
This comes a week after the leadership of the Supreme Court to explore the “wicked connection” of builders.
Jaypee Sports International LTD, Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, Ajnara India Ltd, Vatika Ltd, Jaypee Inframech Ltd, SuperTech and Idea Idea, are also named in FIR, reported PTI.
Bankers and financial institutions such as the India State Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance LTD, Piramal Finance, HDFC Bank, ICica Bank, Tata Capital Housing Finance and PNB Housing Finance LTD were also appointed unity of economic crimes agency.
The bench including Judge Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh 29 allowed April to transfer six preliminary investigations to formal investigation.

The probe focuses on the subvent system introduced by several banks and financial institutions. As part of this system, loans were sanctioned by Homebuyer, but paid directly to builders who were responsible for paying the emission until the ownership of the apartments was handed over.
After many developers did not fulfill their obligations, banks began to demand installments from the Homebuyers – despite not getting their homes.
The APEX Court, which recognized the seriousness of alleged fraud, appreciated the CBI for its “diligence” and noted that the agency had questioned more than 1,000 individuals and checked more than 1,000 individuals in its investigation and checked 58 project sites.

The court also noted that the seventh preliminary investigation was still underway. This applies to projects of various builders – exclusing SuperTech LTD – affected outside the capital, including bombay, Bengaluru, Calcutta, Mohali and Allahabad.
The court listened to a set of petitions filed with more than 1200 Homebuyers who booked apartments within the subvent system in projects across Noid, Greater Noida and Gurogram. The petitioners claim that they are “forced” to pay the emission by financial institutions, even if they have not been held.
