Zilla Panchayat CEO KR Nandini has issued strict instructions to the invigilators to take necessary steps to improve SSLC exam results of students staying in hostels run by Social Welfare Department and Backward Classes Welfare Department.
At a Saturday video conference with all hostel supervisors, she stated that the supervisors must live in the hostels. They have been directed to send GPS-enabled photos through WhatsApp every day as proof that Class 10 students are learning during both morning and night study hours.
Referring to the results of Prelims – 2, she noted that out of 438 students in the hostel, 370 passed while 68 failed. She instructed the invigilators to use the next 18 days and work with determination to ensure that all students pass the SSLC examination. Students were also urged to make good use of the facilities provided by the government and strive for better results.
She directed that ‘Kalika Mitra’ books be distributed to academically weaker students to boost their confidence and help them secure minimum marks. Separate classes must be conducted for students who have failed and block education officials have been instructed to monitor these arrangements. Wardens were also asked to send letters to parents of absent students.
Meanwhile, Director General ZP paid a surprise visit to the hostel of Backward Classes Welfare Department in Mandya city, inspected the night study arrangement and interacted with the students.
For the academic year 2025-26, 19,479 students from 476 schools in the district have registered for the SSLC examination.
Ms. Nandini also paid a surprise visit to the Government Girls High School, Nagamangala town and reviewed the SSLC–3 Prelims answer evaluation process.
The examination was conducted from February 23 to February 28 across the district at the school level in accordance with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). A vigilance group has been set up to oversee the examination process, with inter-taluk teams formed for assessment at designated centres.
Officials from the RDPR, Social Welfare, Fisheries, Women and Child Development, Animal Husbandry and Animal Husbandry departments were appointed as members of the security. The taluk to which the answer scripts must be sent is informed on the morning of the examination day. The scripts are evaluated the next day and returned to the respective taluk on the same day.
Necessary facilities were arranged in evaluation centers and one nodal officer was appointed for every 8 to 10 schools. Evaluation must be completed between 8.30am and 5.30pm, after which the evaluated scripts are sent back to the respective schools. The grades must be uploaded to the board’s website by the deadline, she said.
