Ahead of crucial meetings on the ongoing political saga of power-sharing and leadership change in Karnataka, DK Suresh, brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge arrived in Delhi on Friday.
The two leaders are said to have gone to the nation’s capital to discuss the ongoing impasse with the party’s central leaders.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shivakumar, who has been clamoring for the chief minister’s post halfway through the government’s five-year tenure, said he was in “no rush” and the party would decide on all matters. Responding to a question, Mr. Shivakumar said, “Party workers may be impatient, but I am in no rush. The party will take all decisions.” He canceled his flight to Delhi which was earlier booked for Friday.
In another development, Nanjavadutha Swamy of the Vokkaliga community called on Mr. Shivakumar at his residence and supported his claim to the top post. He said Vokkaliga community also belongs to backward classes and Mr. Shivakumar also belongs to AHINDA group like Mr. Siddaramaiah. The seer claimed that sentiment in support of Mr. Shivakumar is growing in all communities.
At the right time
Before leaving for Delhi, Mr Priyank Kharge said the Congress high command had a sense of timing to resolve the intensifying power tussle between Mr Siddaramaiah and his deputy. He said the party would intervene at the right time. Mr Siddaramaiah and Mr Shivakumar have agreed to travel to Delhi for a meeting when the party high command summons them.
“No one has given any official invitation or statement about the meeting in Delhi. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister have said that they will go to Delhi if invited by the Congress president or AICC general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala,” the minister said.
