The Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MP Supriya Sule on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) accused the Maharashtra’s government of demanding “4,800 GBP probe) in Mukhyamantri.
Its accusation comes two days after the Maharashtra government announced a temporary suspension of 1,500 GBP monthly assistance to 26.34 lamp recipients after verification, which allegedly revealed the presence of thousands of incapable recipients, including 14,000 men, on the list. The State Minister of Children and Child ADITI Tatkare stated that the eligibility of suspended recipients will be verified by the relevant district collectors.
Mrs. Sule questioned the process by which the government verified and identified the recipient. “The government refuses, about the smallest excuses, the applications of people who are trying to gain access to health, education and crop insurance. How did the system allow men to receive cash payments through direct benefits?” She said.
He attached the blame for the “inconsistencies” to the main Minister Dendra Fadnavis and the representatives of the main ministers Ekath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Baramati said, “Men must take responsibility.
The Ladki Bahin scheme started in August 2024 before the elections of the Maharashtra Assembly, which took place later in November. This program was considered one of the reasons for the victory of the Mahayuti Alliance led by BJP in the survey. After the elections, however, the government launched the beneficiaries of discarding illegal recipients.
“If the matter is not investigated, we will increase the demand for a probe in parliament,” said NCP leader (SP) Mediaperonsin New Delhi.
