The Supreme Court on Friday (April 24, 2026) refused to hear the lawsuits filed by several individuals from West Bengalincluding 65 persons with voting obligations, against the deletion of their names from the voter list after a special intensive revision of the voter lists.
The Supreme Court asked them to approach appellate tribunals to decide on appeals against erasure or exclusion of names from the electoral roll.
“You have to raise these arguments before the (appellate) tribunal,” a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M. Pancholi told the lawyer appearing for the petitioners in two separate pleas.
