Supporters of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S Ramadoss staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Thursday (Dec 4, 2025), condemning the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its decision to recognize his estranged son Anbumani Ramadoss as party president.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, PMK leader GK Mani claimed that the Delhi High Court while hearing a case filed by followers of Dr. Ramadose refused the election commission’s decision to recognize Dr. Anbumani for party president.
“The Delhi High Court ruled that the documents submitted by Dr. Anbumani to the Election Commission claiming to be the party president are invalid. So he cannot call himself the party president. It is a victory for Ayya (Dr. Ramadoss) who has been running the party for the last 46 years,” Mr. Mani said, adding that the Election Commission should not act unilaterally.
