Supplyco has decided to make the Onam special offer of 20kg rice at ₹25/kg per card per month a permanent scheme. It was also announced that female consumers will receive an additional 10% discount on non-subsidized products, on top of the existing discounts available at Supplyco stores.
In celebration of Supplyco’s 50th anniversary, a number of new initiatives and other benefits for consumers have been announced.
Currently, each ration card holder is entitled to purchase one liter of edible oil at a subsidized price of ₹ 319 per liter from SUPPLYCO outlets. This quota will now double to two liters per card per month. Subsidized Sabari brand coconut oil will be sold at ₹ 359 per liter and Kera coconut oil at ₹ 429 per litre, said a press release issued by the office of the civil supplies minister.
Customers who purchase non-subsidized goods worth ₹1,000 or more will receive one kg of sugar at ₹5. Those who purchase items above ₹500 will get 250g of Sabari Gold Tea at a 25% discount, priced at ₹61.50 instead of ₹105.
Customers who pay through UPI for bills above ₹500 will get an additional ₹5 discount as part of Supplyco’s efforts to promote digital payments.
Sabari Appam Powder and Puttu Powder, usually at ₹88 per kg, were available at a 50% discount, at ₹44 per kg. This discount is valid from November 1st.
Supplyco also introduced another incentive to reduce overcrowding in its stores. It announced that customers who shop before 5pm will receive an additional 5% discount on select branded FMCG items.
Launched by Supplyco on November 1, Supplyco’s Mobile Markets will make subsidized goods as well as branded essential commodities available in all constituencies.
As in previous years, special Christmas markets will be organized in six district centres, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thrissur.
Selected Supplyco supermarkets in the taluks will also function as Christmas fair outlets. These fairs will be held from December 21 to January 1.
Supplyco is targeting ₹250 crore in sales during the Christmas season. More than 250 products will be offered at special discounts and special prices. Christmas cakes and other festive special items will be widely available in all Supplyco stores.
