At a time when the campaign for the selection for the Nilambur election district of the Assembly gains at strength, the newly appointed Congress Committee Keral Pradesh (KPCC) Sunny Joseph visited Syed Mohammed Jifri Muthukoya Thang, Sunni Scholars “forum.
The meeting occurred in the Samasty office in the city. Mr. Joseph later told the media that he was part of his attempts to meet important community leaders and political veterans. “The meeting was cordial and we also discussed political issues. The visit assumes importance against the background of the news that the leadership of Samastha is not satisfied with the support offered by the Jamaat-E-Islami, which is in India in Bypoll, by Pospoll. But Mr. Thangal claimed that Bypoll was not discussed during the meeting. He said Mr. Joseph was looking for proposals to strengthen the congress party. “All political parties, including congress, should continue with a secular perspective. I told him that,” Mr. Thangal said.
Meanwhile, he refused to comment on WPI UDF support. “We don’t have to comment on this. The political fronts will try to win votes to win the elections. We do not support anyone politically. There is a struggle between two strong political queues.
