Sunil Gavaskar: ‘The world, I think, is his oyster’ to Shubman Gill

Former Indian captain and cricket commentator Sunil Gavaskar shared his observations after India’s historic run of over 400 runs against the West Indies. Gavaskar praised India’s batting display and reserved high praise for Shubman Gill, noting, “I think the world is his oyster. He can, he can go on to break almost every record if he continues in this way.” Commenting on Rohit Sharma’s 2027 FIFA World Cup century prospects, Gavaskar dismissed doubts and said questions should not be asked of such a selfless cricketer. He also played down the bowling concerns, noting that the pitches in South Africa will offer much more help to the bowlers.
