In his column for Sportstar Gavascar, he has not saved any words: “This is the first time he has heard of a trophy named after individual retirement players … This shows a complete lack of sensitivity to the Pataudis contribution to cricket in England and India.”
He added that while it is in the ECB right to rename the trophy, the removal of the name Pataudi is an incredible service for his legacy.
