After the fourth test between India and England in Old Trafford, which was closed in a hard combat draw, the former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavascar openly criticized the tactics of England. Gavascar challenged England’s decision not to report its shifts after Ben Stokes reached the century, suggesting that the team missed the key opportunity to promote victory and instead resorted to the booted posture.
Gavascar, the very first dough for 10,000 run-run, also emphasized the significant contradiction in earlier English statements during their tour of India, where several players certainly claimed that they could chase the target of 600 runs.

Although the Indian statement set a challenging goal of 608 runs in Birmingham, England did not reach 336 runs. Gavascar rejected his earlier confidence as a mere “loud conversation”, emphasized the gap between their rhetoric and the performance in the field.
“One of the questions that will appear is whether England has detonated too long before the announcement. When India gave England over 600 runs to chase in Birmingham, some of the English players later said at a press conference.
“But I remember reading before, when they were in India, England said,” Give us 600 plus runs or anything really – we are chasing it. “But that was just bravery.
“Now if SHUBMAN GILL was at the media conference, I would like to ask: Why did you take the lead 311?
After she lost the chance of winning the series, India has a chance to draw a level when the fifth and last test will begin on Thursday 31 in Kennington in London.
