The Hindu in association with Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) and co-presented by Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC) will organize the 2025 Sustainability Summit in Chennai on Friday, November 7 from 10:00 am.
The summit aims to bring together leaders, policy makers and industry experts to foster discussions on environmental responsibility, green innovation and collaborative policies for a sustainable India.
The summit will be attended by H. Shankar, Managing Director, CPCL; Supriya Sahu, Additional Principal Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests; and Srivats Ram, former president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu and managing director of Wheels India.
The day-long event will include seven sessions, including fireside chats and panel discussions on a range of sustainability topics. These include CPCL’s sustainability journey in balancing growth and sustainability and its water conservation strategy.
The event also includes a session exploring Tamil Nadu’s climate and stewardship initiatives. Other sessions will cover India’s energy transition, climate policy and governance, clean technologies and the role of finance in sustainable growth.
Highlighting CPCL’s sustainability milestones, Mr. Shankar said that sustainability has been central to the company’s operations for decades. “Looking ahead, we are moving towards net zero operational emissions by 2046 through cleaner fuels, carbon capture and green product development,” he said.
Tamil Nadu has long believed that politics and action must go hand in hand, Sahu said. “No climate change can succeed without an informed and engaged public. Building climate literacy and enabling a people-led sustainability movement is essential. Platforms like The Hindu Sustainability Summit play a key role in deepening public understanding, highlighting innovation and empowering grassroots action,” she said.
Event partners include Navin’s as Sustainability Partner, NLC India Limited as Associate Partner, Larsen & Toubro as Green Partner, Puthiya Thalaimurai as Television Partner, CII as Industry Partner and Sustainable Energy and Environment Council as Knowledge Partner.
Participation in the summit is by invitation only. For sponsorship inquiries please contact 98419 62820 or 97109 14914.
