Members of Kittur Karnataka Sene protested against the management of the Inamdar Sugar Factory at Markumbi village in Belagavi district and demanded immediate release of compensation to eight workers who died in an occupational accident recently.
As many as six workers and two officers died in the factory while trying to repair a boiler for concentrated sugar syrup. It is clear that the factory management did not implement adequate safety measures, they said.
