The Collector of Chittoor Sumit Kumar said that in the next two months there are enough urea supplies to meet the needs of farmers and without any problem they would be distributed.
On Tuesday, Mr. Sumit Kumar checked several engraving of Seva Kendras (RSKS) in Peddapajani Mandal under the Palamaner election district to evaluate urea supplies to farmers. In an interview with the media later in the forest pension, the collector said that each farmer would receive one urea over RSK and so far 18 000 farmers have been provided 1,500 metric tons of urea.
“Since Paddy’s cultivation is more in the segments of the Palamaner and Punganur gatherings, more urea is needed in these two areas, and farmers will receive additional urea from next Sunday to Tuesday,” the collector said.
He said that in the next two months 2,000 metric tons of urea were brought to the district. Mr Sumit Kumar said that last year the crops were grown in 45,000 hectares and 15,000 metric tons of urea were delivered. This year, crops have been grown on 21,000 hectares and 13,000 metric tons of urea have been delivered. He called on farmers to use urea according to the requirements and asked them to gradually reduce its use.
Sensible
In the annamayya district, the collector of Sridhar Chamakuri took part in the sensitization program held in Sompalle in Mulacalacheruvu to educate farmers about the use of natural fertilizers and nano urea. On this occasion, he said that there was sufficient urea availability in the district. “We provided 4,000 metric tons of urea, more than what was required, and we have a more easily available 1,000 metric tons. If necessary, we will make more urea available,” he said.
Mr. Sridhar said that the use of excessive urea would have an adverse impact on soil fertility and urged farmers to reduce urea. The collector warned against a lawsuit against private traders if they sold urea at a higher price and asked farmers to ask for an account after the purchase. He asked farmers to file a complaint to see if someone who charged an excess for urea to 08561293006, and assured that their data would be maintained confidential.
