The Thomas Cup Indian triumph in 2022 and the silver medal for the men’s team event at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou caused hope of a strong performance in future team events. The Sudirman Cup campaign, however, began on the back leg with two main accidents-the presentness of the highest double pairs of the country, Satwiksaira Randieddy-Chirag Shetty and Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand.
When their double spine disappeared, India needed their single stars to intensify – but PV Sindu and HS prannoy have behaved in decisive matches against Denmark and Indonesia.
The tie against Indonesia began clearly for India, with Dhruv chapel and Tanisha Crasto withdrew the stunning victory from the arrival in mixed doubles. The World No. 17 recovered from the loss of 10-21 in the opening game to beat Rehana Kusharjanto and Gloria Widjaja 10-21, 21-18, 21-19 in the marathon match that lasted an hour and 10 minutes.

Sindu and Prannoy lose key matches
India looked at PV Sindhu to consolidate their advantage, but the world no. Sindu, visibly from the rhythm, fought Wardani’s pace and confidence. She admitted the early leadership in both games, and although she mounted a short fight in the second, she lacked the firepower to force the referee.
HS prannoy started the match of his men well and took the first game 21-19 against World No. 6 Jonatan Christie. Prannoy, however, could not maintain intensity and after an exhausting hour and 13 minutes in court fell in three games.
Indian hopes then rested on female doubles, where Priya Konjengbam and Shuti Misra were overcome in direct games by Lanny Trio Mayasari and Siti Silva Ramadhanti.
In the last match of the doubles men, things went bad to worse, because Hariharan Amsakarunan and Rethina Sabapathi also lost in direct games and sealed the Indian tournament ascent.
