The Indian contingent suffered a big blow before the start of the Sudiman Cup 2025, because the pairing of the Lords Satwiksairaj Randireddy and Chirag Shetty is excluded from the tournament due to illness. Young pairing Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi have been named as backups for Satwik-chirag and are expected to replace the star duo now. But Bai still has to make an official announcement of the same thing.
India is also without the service of a reliable pair of female double couples Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, who are recovering from shoulder injuries. India qualified for the tournament on the back of its world ranking, but a hard group was handed over with Indonesia, Danish and England.
Lakeshya Dream and PV Sindu will be charged in the events of men and women for the Indian contingent. India still has to get into the Sudirman Cup semifinals.
