Sudden rain accompanied by impact wind on Sunday evening in the district of Kalaburagagi in the district of Kalaburagagi otital parts, causing extensive damage to gardening crops.
The downpour, which lasted between 16:30 and 17:30, influenced several villages, including Madiyal, Bhusanur, Devantigi, Yalasangi and the surrounding areas.
The region, known for its prosperous horticulture, has suffered severe losses because banana, melon, cucumber, tomatoes and other seasonal crops were destroyed in bad weather.
Farmers in the affected villages expressed concern about unexpected precipitation, which came in a fundamental stage of the culture cycle.
“We cultivated two acres of bananas and half the crop is destroyed in the rain and wind. Bananas plants fell because of strong winds,” said Bhimashanakar, resident of the Madiyal village, Hindu.
