The Andhra Pradesh government has credited ₹ 146.84 crore as subsidy in the bank accounts of as many as 31,929 mango growers in Chittoor district, Collector Sumit Kumar said on Monday (Dec 22, 2025).
During an interaction with farmers under the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) here, the Collector said that more than 20,000 farmers have received subsidies exceeding ₹ 1 lakh each, a relief from market fluctuations. The government remained determined to protect the interests of mango growers. Farmers’ data was collected and the support price of ₹ 4 per kg was deposited directly into their bank accounts, the Collector added.
The Collector said that the state was following a proposal to set up mango boards in the district.
