As part of the Police Remembrance Week celebrations, the police in Sri Sathya Sai and Chittoor districts conducted a series of awareness programs appealing to students and the public to uphold the values of service, discipline and patriotism exemplified by the fallen martyrs.
In Puttaparthi, Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar inaugurated a seminar at the district police office and gave away prizes to the winners of essay and recitation competitions. He urged the students to study honestly and aim high in life. “The peace and security we enjoy today is the result of the sacrifices of our fellow police officers whose legacy should be passed on to the younger generations,” the SP said.
The SP also spoke about the importance of Police Martyrs’ Week and urged the students to be aware of issues like cyber crime and drug abuse. Senior police officers from Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram, Penukonda, Hindupur and Kadiri divisions attended the meeting.
In Chittoor, Superintendent of Police Tushar Dodi inaugurated a performance by police bands at Gandhi Circle in honor of the martyred policemen. The SP said the greater participation of students and local youth in programs organized by the police reflected a positive change in the mindset of the young generation.
The SP said the event was a symbol of the pride and dedication of the police force and its commitment to public safety. Almost 200 policemen, home guards, students and the public participated in the program.
