Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar said the government’s aim is to ensure that students who study in college have professional skills at the end of their academic term.
During the closing ceremony of the Karnataka C2C (Campus to Career) Summit on Saturday, Dr. Sudhakar that the summit is the first step to prepare students to leave the university with industry-required training. He said that skill based training is the only way to eliminate unemployment.
Dr. Sudhakar chaired a meeting with representatives of 39 leading corporate firms urging them to invest their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds in the higher education sector in the state.
The minister presented the skill centers, training and educational methods implemented in the last three years at state universities and colleges with the use of CSR funds.
“If big industries invest their CSR funds in higher education, we can innovate skill learning among students in rural areas. The government is ready for an open discussion about their investment in this regard,” said Dr. Sudhakar.
