Students of government universities on Friday organized a protest in front of the office of the Commissioner and condemned the delay in appointing guest members of the faculty.
Under the banner Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP), students gathered in front of the office and increased the slogans against the state government by delaying the appointment of lecturers. In the last two months, many subjects have not been taught and the students remained in a difficult situation. They seemed to be forced to appear on semester tests even without visiting classes for certain objects.
In the press release, the wearers of the ABVP office said 432 universities were dependent on visiting lecturers. Students were denied quality education and no members of the faculty who would teach them.
They demanded that the government to occupy vacancies in government universities first and named those who are qualified according to UGC instructions.
The police stopped the protesters when they tried to enter the deputy commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Gurudatt Hegde received her memorandum. The superintendent of the police shivamogg GK Mithun Kumar and other officers were present.
The protest was led by Nandan M., the secretary of the wing of ABVP Shivamoga City and others. A similar protest took place in Hassan City. Demonstrators submitted Dharna in front of the office deputy commissioner in the city and submitted a memorandum to the District Administration.
