Students from five South Indian states showed their talent in instrumental music, vocal music, traditional competition for narration and sculpture at the regional level of Kala Utsav 2025 on Wednesday. The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Education, the Indian Government and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti as part of the “Viksit Bharat” programs.
During the two -day celebrations, students of Andr Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala captivated the audience with their brilliant acting and extraordinary dance performances in categories such as theater, folk dance, folk dance (solo, group of four and twelve).
Their presentations reflected the traditions of South Indian and Hindustan music and dance. The main performances include the shadow game Kasaragod Cluster of Kathakali, Hyderabad Cluster Student’s Division of Narasimha Avatar and Thrissur Cluster’s Mohiniyattam and Kathakali Dance.
In separate performances, Charan of Kurnool impressed his Bharatanatyam, Padmini from Chamarajanagar won praise for his dance, while Lakshmi Pavani from Vizianagarama and Anjana from Kurnool excelled with classical dance recitals. In theater art, he plays social issues such as drug abuse and its consequences, and the “Sindoor” MIME operation has left a strong impact.
The main guest was the Mla Damcharla Janardhan. On this occasion he said that together with education they play extracurricular activities such as sport and art, an essential role in the development of personality. He encouraged students to shine not only as scholars but also as big artists.
