The re-test for the Undergraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UGNEET-2026) for admission to medical courses was successfully conducted across the state on Sunday without any untoward incident.
It took place when the question papers for UGNEET-2026 held on 3rd May 2026 were leaked.
However, compared to the first exam held on May 3, students in the state found it more difficult to retake the test. While the biology questions were average, many students described the physics and chemistry questions as “very difficult”.

“I have been studying very well for the last month and a half. However, compared to the previous NEET exam, Sunday’s re-test was very tough. Physics and Chemistry questions were especially tough. I scored 615 marks based on the ‘answer key’ of the May NEET exam. But I doubt that I will get even 600 marks in the re-test,” said Meghana VP, a student from Bengaluru.
“I couldn’t answer all the questions. Earlier examination was easier than this. I doubt I will get medical seat this time,” said Keerthana Ravi.
Another student, Varun Sakhya, said that the students were very upset with the re-test through no fault of theirs and that it was difficult, it only added to their woes.
An official of a private NEET coaching center in Bengaluru told The Hindu, “This time the NEET exam was tough for all students, so none of our students can score 720 out of 720. Some can score 690 to 700.”
With the National Testing Agency (NTA) taking strict measures to prevent any untoward incident, including paper leakage, the examinations in the state went off smoothly on Sunday.
All investigation centers have been turned into fortresses with heavy police deployment and bans clamped within a 200 meter radius around these centres.
