Government employees, school students gathered in groups to sing Vande Mataram in different parts of Telangana on Friday (November 7, 2025) to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song. Mass singing took place in schools, collectors and other government offices. District Collectors spoke about the importance of Vande Mataram. “Vande Mataram, composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, was first published in the literary magazine Bangadarshan on 7 November 1875,” says a Press Information Bureau report.

BC Transport and Social Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Excise and Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao attended the program held at a school in Abids. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana leaders also attended another program held in Hyderabad.
