
A college girl whose complaint about sexual harassment against a lecturer fought on Saturday (July 12, 2025) throughout his life after his life after self -time on the College Corridor in the Odisha district in Balasore.

The girl attempted suicide during a student protest against inactivity on her sexual harassment. She was rushed to Aiims Bhubaneswar, where doctors found that she had suffered 90% of the injuries. Two men who tried to save her were also accepted by burn injuries.
The situation escalated after the girl repeatedly accused Professor Sahu of sexual harassment and claimed that he threatened to sabotage her academic record unless she comply with his requirements. Although the internal committee was created that dealt with this matter, no specific steps were taken for a long time, which caused students protests.
There was an accusation that Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi was informed of a complaint of sexual harassment, but no measures followed. The university authorities rejected the accusation and stated that the Internal Committee found no substantial evidence to support the complaint.
Her classmates and other university students accused that there were no representation of students in the Internal Committee, while colleagues from the accused teachers tried to suppress the matter.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education introduced a high -level committee to deal with all aspects of the incident.
The BJD organized a press conference organized by university authorities, police and responsible Mr. Sarangi. The party said that student 1 July filed a written complaint that claimed that the lecturer had demanded sexual kindness from her.
“However, the director did not take the accusation seriously. As a result of the director’s inactivity, the student was forced to approach the police. At the beginning of this year, a Nepalese student was found dead in her hostel room on the campus of a private university after repeated complaints against a male classmate were overlooked.
