Kambli, once considered one of India’s brightest batting talents, was seen being supported by the two as he slowly made his way around the stadium. Despite looking physically frail, the 54-year-old appeared cheerful and in good spirits. His public appearance also appeared to support an earlier statement by his wife, Andrea Hewitt, who dismissed rumors suggesting his health had deteriorated significantly.Kambli has faced serious health problems in recent years, including issues related to a brain clot. Earlier this month, his friend Marcus Couto revealed that the former cricketer was suffering from memory problems after being hospitalized almost 18 months ago.“Since he was hospitalized in Thane about 18 months ago, Kambli has had a clot in his brain. His memory is not good. He remembers things and then forgets them,” Couto said.Watch the viral video:After concerns spread online, Kambli’s wife Andrea strongly rejected claims that his condition was critical.“By the grace of God, Vinod is fine. I don’t know who is spreading false information about his health,” she told India Today.Kambli’s appearance at the Wankhede offered relief to many cricket fans who were worried about his condition. Once seen as a batting prodigy alongside childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar, Kambli played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India before personal struggles and health issues affected his post-cricket life. The match itself ended badly for Mumbai Indians as Rajasthan Royals secured a comfortable 30-run win to seal the final spot in the IPL playoffs. Despite battling knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, MI failed to chase down Rajasthan’s target of 205 runs.
