Minister of Law Odisha Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Monday (May 19, 2025) that strict legal steps would be taken if someone was found to leaks sensitive information for workers in Pakistan.
Mr. Harichandan’s statement came in the middle of the police investigation of the potential connection between YouTuber, based in Puri and Jyoti Malhotr, who were arrested for accusing the transfer of sensitive information to Pakistani intelligence workers.
In an interview with reporters in Bhubaneswar, he said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) performs a probe on sharing sensitive information with neighboring countries.
“Anyone who has found that it is associated with this network will face an investigation. Strict measures will be taken against those involved, whether they were directly involved in espionage or helped in any form. No one will be spared,” the Minister said.
Asked about the possible interconnection of Odisha YouTuber in the alleged case of espionage, he said: “If there is a link at all, NIA will perform his work correctly. If a link is set, the matter will take very seriously and the situation will be solved accordingly”.
“YouTuber Jyoti Malhotr, who was arrested by the Police Haryan, visited Jagannath Temple in Puri, except Konark and Chilek in Odis.
After the matter came to the forefront, in the social media, the woman Youtuber of Puri said, “Jyoti was just my friend, and I came with her in touch with YouTube. I didn’t know what he was accused.
“If an investigative agency wishes me to have crushed questions, I would provide full cooperation. The nation is above all. Jai Hind,” she wrote in the Instagram post.
