Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy explained the state government’s efforts to integrate artificial intelligence (AI)-led solutions on issues ranging from tracking farmers’ subsidies, collection of property taxes, ensuring provision of subsidies to women and urban municipal affairs.
Participating in a high-profile session on ‘Smart Infrastructure for Building Competitiveness’ organized by the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday, he outlined Telangana’s efforts to innovate a range of issues and policies using artificial intelligence. “The intelligence of the system was both the problem and the solution,” he said.
Explaining the impact of AI on government, he said that with AI, most governments cannot afford to remain inactive and “we realize the value of being proactive and acting quickly.” He explained to the participants the ambitious vision of Telangana Rising 2047 planned to become a $3 trillion economy. The state capital, Hyderabad, has been a hub of global capacity centers with the largest companies across industries operating from the state. The government is committed to building smart systems to remain attractive to investors.
Several prominent business leaders and politicians spoke about building smart infrastructure – from smart factories to sustainable energy systems to AI-based services and smart cities. They presented examples of effective solutions implemented in different countries around the world.
