The Kannur Corporation Board has decided to take urgent measures to ensure drinking water supply in the drought-affected areas. For this purpose, a tender procedure was launched.
Mayor P. Indira said councilors should take the lead in coordinating drinking water supply and report areas facing acute shortage. The move comes amid numerous complaints of irregular water supply through pipelines managed by the Kerala Water Authority. The mayor said discussions would be held with the KWA to resolve the crisis.
