Stefanos Tsissipas broke up with coach Goran Ivanisevic after a short and finally unsuccessful coaching. The couple joined in May 2025 in what was considered a bold step to help the Greek star regain its form and trust. However, the results did not take place, with Titsipas managed only one victory during the grass court season and continued to run the Grand Slams Grand.
In Wimbledon, Tsissipas found himself in his opening match against the Valentin Royer qualifier before he was lucky enough to injure the French. The victory did little to mask deeper concerns about the form and fitness of the 26 -year -old, and his performance raised more questions than answers.
In the post on Instagram confirming the division of Titsipas wrote: “I am grateful for the time, effort and energy of Goran, who is devoted to me and my team. Now that we are watching our separate ways, I respect only Goran – not only for what he has achieved in tennis, but also for who he is.”
Ivanisevic, a former Wimbledon champion and long -term coach Novak Djokovich, did not delay during the discussion of the Titsipase status after the premature output of Wimbledon. “I have talked to him many times. If he solves some things outside tennis, then he will return to where he belongs,” IvanisEvic told the Sportklub outlet. “I have never seen a more unpairing player in my life. With this knee I have been three times more fit than him. That’s really bad.”
Croatian also worked with Elena Rybakina shortly earlier in the year and remains one of the most important coaches in the game.
As far as Tsissipas is concerned, this latest obstacle contributes to a heavy running, which has seen him not to get any Major’s second round since 2023 French Open. At best, the finalist at the French Open in 2021 and the Australian Open in 2023 and pushed Djokovich deep into both competitions. For the time being, however, the former world 3 will have to reconsider its trajectory by trying to rediscover the spark that once made it one of the most feared names on the tour.
