
The Ministry of Steel is all set to showcase India’s steel ambitions at Bharat Steel 2026 on April 16-17 in New Delhi.
With the participation of governments, foreign delegations, industry leaders, technology innovators, politicians and investors, Bharat Steel 2026 aims to position New Delhi as the hub of the steel supply chain conversation and unite the global steel industry under one roof.
“This will be an important industry meeting to discuss critical aspects of the global steel supply chain, including the impact of tariffs, trade policies, technology disruption, raw material security and logistics infrastructure,” said Shri Sandeep Poundrik, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
Bharat Steel 2026 will serve as a platform for global dialogue on the future of the industry, with participants expected from leading steel producing and consuming countries.
Bharat Steel 2026 will feature a variety of speakers representing governments, public sector enterprises, global steel producers and technology providers.
These include Giacomo Mareschi Danieli (CEO Group, Danieli), Dilip Oommen (CEO, AM/NS India), Abhyuday Jindal (MD, Jindal Stainless), Sajjan Jindal (Chairman and Managing Director, JSW Group), Naveen Jindal (Chairman, Jindal Steel and Member of Parliament), Anil Agarcutah, Moredi, Anil Agarcut (Non-Exepres Limited) Director and Vice Chairman, Nippon Steel Corporation), among many other eminent leaders including CMD of Mining and Steel PSEs.
The summit will also be attended by senior political leadership, central and state government officials and senior politicians, reflecting the strategic importance of the steel sector to India’s industrial and economic development.
India has emerged as one of the most dynamic steel markets in the world, supported by strong infrastructure expansion, rapid industrialization and manufacturing-led growth. It has set ambitious targets to expand its steel production capacity to 300 tonnes by 2030 and 400 tonnes by 2035.
According to recent preliminary government data, India’s finished steel exports registered a 36.6% year-on-year increase to 6.02 million metric tonnes in the first 11 months of the 2025-26 financial year.
