Governor Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma said Steel Bank initiative is a commendable step towards building a greener future.
He spoke after participating in the “Steel Bank” distribution program, which was held under the auspices of Ponnam Sathaiah Goud Memorial Trust and also on Thursday the Indired Mahak Shakti celebration on Thursday in Siddipet, Koheda.
The environmentally friendly initiative launched Minister for Transport and Return Classes Ponnam Prabhakar in memory of his father to distribute steel banks to members of all 276 female self -help groups (SHG) in 164 villages of Husnabad. The aim of the initiative is to fight against the threat of plastic objects with one use and support the use of steel dishes in social events such as weddings and social gatherings, in the cooperation regime involving women of SHG.
The governor handed over the steel bank members containing steel glasses, plates and other dishes to members of about 38 Gramica Sanghams on this occasion. Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar chaired the meeting.
The Minister of the Environment and the Forests of Konda Arekha and others were present.
The governor described the “Bartan Bank” initiative and said he would prepare a way to lay a strong foundation for a greener future.
He noted that he would have a deep social impact stronger than the car and the IT Revolution, which described the SHG movement as a radiant example of the movement of women.
