The Minister of the Union and Cooperation of the Union AMIT Shah on Monday (June 30, 2025) said that each state should announce its cooperation policy before January 31, 2026.
Mr Shah said that national cooperation policy will be announced soon and will be effective from 2025 to 2045. He said that in the national team of cooperatives, the cooperative policy of each state will be formulated according to the conditions of the co -operative state of that state and specific objectives.
He said that bringing discipline, innovation and transparency into the cooperative sector sector throughout the country will be achieved through the model of the Act on National Cooperative Policy. The Minister added that the creation of 2 lakhs of primary agricultural credit companies should be completed by February 2026.

On Monday (June 30, 2025), Mr. Shah chaired “Manthan Baithak” with ministers of cooperation of all states. He stressed that for a country with a population of 140 crore, GDP and GSDP growth, and creating jobs were important. He said that cooperation was the only option to generate employment for each individual and the Ministry of Cooperation was established four years ago.
The Minister said that with sensitivity, cooperation must be revitalized for the well -being of millions of small farmers and rural people in the country, because there are huge opportunities in the cooperative sector.

Mr Shah said that the creation of a national database of cooperatives was important among 60 initiatives to develop a sector. He said that the database was created in such a way that cooperative institutions at the level of national, state, districts and the then can together realize the goal of the government to open cooperation in each village in the next five years.
The Minister said there were three main reasons for weakening the cooperative movement in India. He said that the laws have not changed over time, which Narendra Modi has now changed.
Mr. Shah added that cooperative activities have not been extended or modified with time. He mentioned that the recruitment in teams had previously been carried out on neotism, and therefore the idea of the University of Tribhuvan Sahkari was created.
