The state electric plate (KSEB) will replace bare ceiling power plants for safer air -running cables (ABC) in strongly populated areas and other places identified as “specific safety risks”.
The decision was taken against the background of recent electrical accidents, especially electric shock to the boys’ high school, Thevalakar, who claimed the life of a 13 -year -old boy.
Unlike conventional non -insulated cables used for upper power plants, ABC has several insulated wires connected together, usually with bare or insulated neutral conductor.
The CSEB line has ordered electric circles to obtain low voltage ABC for use in identified regions that have ‘specific safety risks’. These regions include waterlogged waters, premises and related areas of schools, Anganwadis, religious institutions and strongly populated areas identified as the location of accidents, according to KSEB.
The decision to use ABCS was adopted at a meeting convened by the chairman of the KSEB and CEO Mir Mohammed Ali on July 20, three days after electricity in Thelakkara.
