The state government would provide about 70 Lakh tons of Paddy this season Rabi (2024-25), including fine varieties with another support of 500 GBP for Quinttal as a bonus of estimated production of 127.5 Lakh tons, Minister for Civil Delivery and Irrigation N. Uttam Kumar Reddy here on Saturday.
This is followed by about 66.7 Lakh tons during the kharif of estimated production of 153.5 lakh tons. Paddy was cultivated in more than 65.49 lakh acrech in the kharif while it is cultivated in almost 58.73 Lakh acrech this season Raby.
With an estimated production of about 281 Lakh tons in two periods of crops since 2024-25, Telangana became the highest unpeeled state in the country, the Minister said in a review of Rabi Paddy’s order.
In an interview with district collectors through the video conference Mr. Uttam Reddy warned officials to remain vigilant, because several districts were reported inappropriate rains. Such weather fluctuations could damage the harvested or the state unpeeled, not if it quickly, he said.
From 18 April, about 8.51 Lakh tons of Paddy arrived in public procurement centers and 5.77 Lakh tons were already purchased. It included 3.79 lakh tons of fine (“Sanna”) varieties and 1.98 lakh tons of coarse (“Dodd”) varieties. It received a total of 63,887 farmers and the payment including the bonus was in the process.
The government proposed to open 8,329 non -bal centers for awarding public procurement (PPC) and 7 337, of which it has already been opened. The Nizamabad, Kameddy, Nalgonda and Siddipet district were operated by all the planned PPCs.
