The government announced that on Saturday (April 26, 2025), the third and last day of the state of the state in honor of Pope Francis, who coincides with his burial mass and burial, will be observed. The sadness of the state is held as a sign of respect for the Supreme Pope of the Holy See, which died at the beginning of this week.
As part of the mourning, the National Flag will be on Saturday (April 26, 2025) in half of the mast in all government buildings throughout India and no official entertainment will be planned for the day, confirmed by an official statement issued on Thursday (April 24, 2025).
“The Indian government declared three -day sadness in honor of the holiness of Pope Francis after its completion. State sadness was observed on April 22 and 23, 2025, and the last day of sadness will coincide with the funeral,” the statement read.
Pope Francis, the first non -European Pope in nearly 1300 years, died 21 April 2025 at the age of 88 after a short illness. Shortly before his death, he was diagnosed with double pneumonia.
