
‘Padavu 2026′, the state Ksheera Sangamam and dairy exhibition organized by the Department of Dairy Development, will be held from January 18 to 21 at the Asramam Ground and Younus Convention Center in Kollam. The program is being held in collaboration with Milma, Kerala Feeds, Kerala Livestock Development Board, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Animal Husbandry Department, Dairy Societies and Kerala Dairy Farmers’ Welfare Fund Board. The biggest focus will be on South India’s largest dairy exhibition with more than 150 stalls.
The event begins on January 18 with the inauguration by Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister J. Chinchurani, followed by the official inauguration by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on January 19, where major awards including the Dr. Verghese Kurien. Finance Minister KN Balagopal will present the Dairy Sahakari Awards for Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Malabar regions. Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar will felicitate local government institutions which have spent the most funds or implemented innovative projects in the dairy sector during the financial year 2024-25.
Various programs including a seminar on innovative cattle feeding methods and husbandry techniques titled “Innovative Tools in Dairy Management”, a section presenting dairy business opportunities titled “Dairy Business – Endless Possibilities”, “Science in the Village” where dairy farmers share their scientific discoveries, LSGD Workshop, Dairy Sector Digitization Seminar, Milk and Media Digitization Seminar. the exhibition will include former Directors of Dairy Development and a ‘Face-to-Face’ program involving experts.
The event will be attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, scientific and technical experts and consumers. Around five thousand members of dairy cooperatives and ten thousand milk farmers should participate in the four-day program.
