Foreign Minister for Railways by V. Somann said on Sunday that the government is not excited about taking the projects of Mysurura-Kušhalnagar and Hejala-Chamarajanagar.
Mr. Somanna, who spoke to reporters, said he wrote Karnataka to the Ministry of Railways and said it was not concerned with the implementation of two railway projects. “I talked to the Chamarajanagar deputy Sunil Bose and his father HC Mahadevappa to put pressure on the state government. I also take the problem with the main Minister Siddaraiaha,” said Mr. Somanna.
The proposed Hejala-Chamarajanagar project via Kanakapura, Malavalli and Kollegal was approved in 1997-98 and the estimated costs are bound to 1,382.78 Crore. In fact, the state government expressed in 2018 that it did not exist in favor of the project for its inability, and the main secretary of the state informed the group for monitoring the Cabinet project for investment-project.
Subsequently, Sumalathha Ambrareesh, who was a member of Mandy from 2019 to 2024, sought to implement his implementation and the current MP HD Kumaraswamy showed an interest in reviving it. The 142-km railway line connects five districts via Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru South (Ramanagara), Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Mysur. The soil required is 1,735 acres and the acquisition process has just begun.
Similarly, the Mysurur-Kušhalnagar rail project, which faces the opposition in Kodag, has to take off, even though the final survey of the location has been completed. The soil needed for the project is almost 1,379 acres, but the acquisition process has just begun. The costs were originally projected at 1,800 GBP Crore, but have increased from their consent. The return on investment for both rail projects is on the negative side.
The Minister said there were 13 railway projects in the state, at the price of 38,000 GBP, and some of the important include Rayaduru-TU, Tumacuru-Davangere, Gadag-Wadi railway lines.
“Although the state government has not shown interest in Hejal-Chamarajanagar and Mysurura-Kashalnagar rail projects, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has worked with land acquisition in other work,” the Minister said.
Mr. Somanna said that most projects were waiting for about 25 to 40 years, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi was revived because he assumes a large role for railways in Viksit Bharat and upgraded the railway infrastructure across the country.
The Minister stated that Greenfield Freight Corridors corridors were carried out to support the transport of goods from the road to the railway because it was economic and ecological.
Mittal Mittal and others were present.
