The state government has allocated a 10 GBP grant for the development of neglected and marginalized nomadic communities in the state.
Sharing This Information at A Press Conference in Chamarajanagar Near Heire On Saturday, Chairperson of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Development Corporation Project, Had Identified and Total of 99 Nomadic Communities Including 51 from SCS, 23 from STS, and 25 Forest Dwellers.
She said that all over the state were carried out tours to collect information on the actual reach of the government facilities of these marginalized nomad communities. She regretted that Chamarajanagar had no proposals for any programs or corporation programs, even though he assigned a grant of 1.49 GBP Crore.
The state government introduced various schemes for nomadic and semon -growing communities, including a system of loans for micro -breed, a scheme of self -employment, business system, land ownership, gang scheme, and muscambhi sarathi.
Also, applicants belonging to the nomadic communities were also used to use most documents other than the certificate of caste and aadhaar, she said.
The adoption of nomadic children to residential schools and nursery will be free and without any entrance examination, and at the same time added that they were even provided with a reservation of 10%.
Mrs. Pallavi directed officials to ensure that nomadic people receive the benefits of loans at a specified time, she said that there was no awareness among nomadic communities about government facilities. She called on all departments to organize awareness camps and expand information about the same.
Recipients of government programs should be selected during meetings, chaired by the deputy of the Commissioner and the proposals should be submitted to the Government in coordination with the relevant departments, she said.
She also asked officials to assign government land to nomads without locations, funeral reasons or agricultural land. If government land is not available, private land should be purchased and provided, she said.
Mrs. Pallavi pointed out that she learned that the nomads did not want to enroll their children in residential schools, and asked officials to advise such parents about the importance of education and organize their visits to institutions and hostels.
Representative of the Commissioner Chamarajanagar Shilpa Nag, who was also present on this occasion, said that the district administration in coordination with forest departments ensures the basic facilities of nomads living in the forest including roads, drinking water and electricity.
Also, as part of the “My Identity-Mum” initiative, the Aadhaar cards are delivered to their door, said and added that it is the responsibility of the District Administration to ensure that nomads receive the facility necessary to conduct a dignified life in society.
On this occasion, the CEO of Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat Mona Roat, the Chief Police BT Kavitha police police and other officials were also present.
