On Friday, the state government told the Karnatak High Court that it had adopted a political decision not to break the rules and instructions that allow a taxi on the bike through transport technology aggregators such as Ola, Uber and Rapido.
This submission was made by a general advocate in front of the divisional bench, which includes the reigning chief judge V. Kameswar Rao and the judiciary Sreenivas Harish Kumar during hearing on the appeal of Uber India Systems PVT. Ltd. or technology PVT. LTD, which operates Services Ola, and Varikruti Mahendra Reddy and others who offer two rounds for taxi services for taxi via Ola, Uber and Rapido.
Only eight states
“As a politics, we do not want the rules for bicycle operations,” said Ag Shashi Kiran Shetty on the bench, pointing out that only eight states have so far allowed taxis on the country all over the country.
The petitioners questioned the judgment of April 2 of April of a single judge who said that “if the government does not state the relevant instructions pursuant to Section 93 of the 1988 Motor Vehicle Act and the rules that the petitioners cannot act as aggregators offering services for bicycles and traffic departments.”
One judge gave time until June 15 to June 15, to end all his operations as aggregators of taxi on the bike and at the same time ask the state government to ensure that all bike operations on this deadline.
At this stage, the bench refused to make a temporary order for the petitioners’ requests to either extend the deadline for the current tax on the bike on their platform for a short time, or to order the authorities to order the coercive steps until the next hearing.
Hearing on June 24
However, the bench said she would hear an appeal on June 24 and stressed that she would consider handing over the provisional order if the government had delayed the instructions/rules, but in the current scenario, the government categorically declared that it had adopted political decisions not to reduce the instructions/rules.
The attorneys of the petitioners claimed that the existing rules allow the registration of two -round rounds such as taxis with a yellow board and secured phase transportation to allow for taxes for passenger transport to the MV and the rules that several people depend on the bikes for their livelihood. License provided to operate a taxi service under Karnatak on Demand Demand Transport Technology Agregators Agregators, 2016, is sufficient to operate taxis by bike, argued on behalf of the owner of motorcycles.
The bench said it would consider all the problems and postpone another hearing within June 24, while insisting that the petitioners and the government should not adjourn that day.
